In November 2015, the Lyttelton Port Recovery Plan came into effect. One of the commitments to come out of the plan development process was the creation of the Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour Catchment Management Plan. Check the Healthy Harbour site out!
Canterbury Regional Council, Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Christchurch City Council and Lyttelton Port Company Limited agreed to work together on the catchment management plan in accordance with ki uta ki tai (from the mountains to the sea). The plan will address environmental, cultural and social concerns, and the needs of a working port.
